GRADUATE ADMISSION
Students apply for admission to a specific academic department through an application submitted to the Princeton University Office of Graduate Admission. The University admits new students once a year for entry in September only; there is no midyear admission.
Deadlines
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
and Computer Science:
- December 1 - for applicants from outside North America
- December 15 - for applicants from North America
All other departments:
- December 1 - for applicants from outside North America
- December 31 - for applicants from North America
Application fees
$65 for online applications submitted by applicants outside North America
$80 for online applications submitted by applicants within North America
$105 for all paper applications
Required tests
All applicants must submit scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). All international applicants whose native language is not English and who have not received their undergraduate education at a U.S. college or university must submit scores from one of two assessments of English language proficiency, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
